Spring is in the air, and it’s time to start compiling your Summer reading list. For those of us looking for quality used books on a budget, Jefferson County Library Foundation’s (JCLF) Spring Whale of a Used Book Sale at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds is the answer! The sale runs from Friday, May 31, through Sunday, June 2. This semi-annual event, which has more than a 20-year history in the community, offers the public 100,000 books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records and many more items with prices starting at $0.50. Plus, admission is free!
The sale launches on Thursday evening, May 30th, with a Friends-only Preview Night from 6 to 8 p.m., when Friends of the Library are invited to shop the sale before it opens to the public. The following morning, May 31, Early Bird shoppers can get in ahead of the crowd from 8 – 9 a.m. for a fee of $10 per adult. At 9 a.m., the sale opens to the public, and there is no admission charge for the rest of the three-day sale. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, May 31 and June 1. On Sunday, June 2, the sale is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event continues to enjoy tremendous support from local sponsors, including JCLF’s Friends Community Partners: Westerra Credit Union, Bandimere Speedway, Pinkard Construction, Stevinson Toyota West, and Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners.
