Books on Film | March 1 | DUNE TWO at Harkins Arvada Theater
Join us for the opening day of the sci-fi movie event of 2024 and help raise funds for Library programs and services! Our 2024 Books on Film fundraiser happens on opening night of the much-anticipated follow-up to the blockbuster DUNE movie adaptation of the Frank Herbert sci-fi/thriller novel. A portion of the ticket price is tax-deductible and proceeds help us support programs including 1000 Books Before Kindergarten and the Raise a Reader kids/family literacy programs. The event will be held at Harkins Theaters Arvada 14 in Olde Town Arvada. Doors open at 6PM. $50 per person includes drink and popcorn. Library Giving Week | April 1-5 | National Week of Giving
#LibraryGivingDay is one of two national online fundraising events that raise critical funds used to support your Jefferson County Public Library! This is the week that people across the nation who depend on and enjoy public libraries donate to their individual library system. Donations made today provide direct financial support for the incredible programs, services and materials that you find for free at your local Library!
2024 Friends Annual Meeting | April 19 | Wheat Ridge Rec Center
Our Friends of JCPL Annual Meeting will be held again at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. We’re excited to announce that Erika Krause will be our featured speaker. Erika Krause is the author of three books of fiction and nonfiction, most recently Tell Me Everything: The Story of a Private Investigation, which is a New York Times Editors’ Choice, winner of the Edgar Award, the Colorado Book Award, and the Housatonic Book Award, and is currently optioned for TV adaptation. Her short fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Esquire.com, and other places. Her new collection of short stories, Save Me, Stranger, is forthcoming in 2024 from Flatiron Books/Macmillan.

RidgeFest | June 29, 2PM – 8PM | Anderson Park, Wheat Ridge, CO
Stop by and see us at Ridgefest – a community-centered Summer festival, hosted by Localworks, unique to Wheat Ridge! This event features a full day of live music from various local bands, food trucks from your favorite local business, yard games, children’s activities, Makers on the Ridge, business vendors, a cornhole tournament and, of course, a large variety of local beer, cider and wine! Shred-A-Thon and Book Drive | August 17 | Bank of Colorado, Lakewood
Stop by today at Bank of Colorado at 275 Union Blvd. in Lakewood for our annual Shred-A-Thon and book drive!
We’ll be offering secure shredding (suggested donation of $20 per carload of shredding) and holding a Book Drive! Bring your gently used books, CDs, DVDs and LPs (we’ll find them new homes)! 9AM to Noon.

This annual fundraiser is a delicious way to help us raise funds for your local Library! Every year, the award-winning 240 Union Creative Grille opens its doors to Library lovers and generously donates 25% of all food sales for the day!

Goldilocks Has Gone Fishing…For Kindness Fundraiser | Date TBD | Evergreen, CO
Live music, auction, great food and drink share center-stage at this annual event! Held at the Troutdale Tavern in Evergreen, CO, this fundraiser raises funds for mountain libraries and benefits Evergreen and Conifer libraries. This event is sponsored by Mountain Metro Association of REALTORS®.
